CCV Burlington spring 2009 classroom assignments are now available online. These classroom assignments are tentative and are subject to change. We recommend that all students stop in at the CCV Burlington lobby before each class to confirm their class location.

CCV Burlington Closed on Friday

CCV Burlington will be closed to the public on Friday, January 23 in order to prepare our facilities for the start of the spring semester on Monday, January 26.

We will reopen at 8:00 AM on Monday (on-call academic advising will begin at 9 AM). Thank you for your cooperation.

Today, celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, CCV Burlington is organizing a group of students, staff and faculty to volunteer in the Burlington community. MLK 2009: A day ON, not a day OFF

Dr. Martin Lugher King, Jr. Day (Monday, January 19, 2009) offers us time to contemplate, celebrate and continue the work for equal rights for all. There are many ways to be involved on MLK day, including volunteering around Burlinton with other members of the CCV community. There are also a variety of other events taking place around Vermont. CCV Students Visit Mexico City

Hello from CCV in Mexico City! Students in the History and Traditions of Mexico class arrived in Mexico City Friday evening, January 9. Here they are at Frida Kahlo’s home, Casa de los Azulejos. At one point both Frida Kahlo and Diego Riviera lived here.

CCV Welcomes Dana Lee

Academic Coordinator & Advisor Dana Lee is settling into his new role overseeing the areas of fine arts, graphic design, and multi media communication in the Burlington site. Dana moved to Vermont from Montreal in November with his wife, Stephanie, and baby son, Desmond. An artist himself, Dana has worked as a teacher, an art academy librarian, and a gallery curator since graduating with his MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2003.

As he learns the ropes of his new job, Dana will be burning the midnight oil at the easel, as he has been accepted into a group show tentatively titled, "Mother, Mother", scheduled for Fall 2009 at A.I.R. Gallery in New York City. The exhibit will feature the work of four artists whose muse has included the transformational experience of parenthood. While not technically a mother, Dana insists that he's spent enough sleepless nights with a baby and a bottle to qualify for honorary status, and thus a place among his female peers in the NYC show.

CCV Burlington Celebrates MLK Day!

In commemoration of MLK Day, CCV Burlington’s Student Advisory Board is organizing its second annual service event on January 19, 2009. Working with the Americorps program and local non-profits throughout Chittenden County, CCV students will have the opportunity to honor MLK’s legacy through volunteer work. We will be meeting in our 119 Pearl St. building at 12:00 PM to talk about King’s life and commitment to community service before heading down to City Hall at 12:45 PM. Students will be able to choose from a number of volunteer opportunities addressing many social issues. The day will conclude with a free community dinner with live music and entertainment at 5:00 PM in Contois Auditorium at City Hall. Please join us to meet some new folks and commemorate the life of one of America’s greatest human rights leaders the way he would have wanted you too, as a “Day On, Not a Day Off.” For more information, contact Ian Boyd at ian.boyd@ccv.edu.

Open Course Registration at CCV Burlington

Now through Friday, January 16 is open registration at CCV Burlington. On these days, new and returning students can apply, take assessments, register for classes, make payments, and meet with counselors without an appointment at our 119 Pearl Street location in Burlington.

Open registration takes place Monday through Friday from 10 AM – 4 PM. We will also be open until 6 PM on Tuesday, January 6 and 13. For more information, visit http://www.ccv.edu/burlington/registration.

Steel is in the Ground in Winooski

As of December 31, the steel for CCV's new building in Winooski has been placed in the ground and a composite image is posted below! The new building, located at 1 Abenaki Way in Winooski, is scheduled to open in May of 2010 and will be the new home for all of CCV Burlington's current operations.
